Artistic Director: Naomi Brouwer
Naomi is an arts practitioner and educator with a socially engaged practice who has taught, directed and collaborated with organisations including St Martins Youth Arts, Signal (City of Melbourne), Canberra Youth Theatre and The Actors Centre (UK). Her work at Flag Inc. is grounded in humanistic philosophy and an inclusive, participant-centred approach to creativity and learning, with a focus on pursuing cross-cultural and intergenerational connections. Naomi has an MA in Applied Theatre (Melbourne University) and a Bachelor of Creative Arts (University of Wollongong).
Artistic Associate: Joseph Appleton
Joseph is a theatre-maker who has worked with Flag Inc. as an artist, facilitator and director on projects including SIX, The Afternoon Wine Bar, and Trash ’n’ Treasure. Joseph’s practice draws on collaborative devising processes in order to develop unique creative works. He is also interested in collaborative research practices and their connection to play-building processes. He is currently working on his PhD at the University of Sydney’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Charles Sturt University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching from University of Melbourne.
