Human after all

Human after All is a project that aims to enhance social cohesion and community resilience by providing opportunities to reflect on the importance of tolerance and respect in a diverse society, by creating spaces for different community groups to get together and learn from each other. 

For Human after All a range of community ambassadors record interviews reflecting on their life journeys. These short films will be presented to grade 5-6 and 7-8 classes through schools across Victoria, with the ambassador in attendance to participate in a q&a session with students and teachers. 

The group is then guided by a Flag teaching artist to draw on the material that emerges from these conversations to generate creative output. Sessions will focus on different mediums including; drama, painting, collage, dance, photography or video. Through this process, responsive art work will be created exploring important themes including resilience, oppression, courage, respect and compassion.                                                                             

Human after All is presented in partnership with Banksia Gardens Community Services as part of a Social Cohesion through Education initiative.    Watch the ambassador's stories here:
